Dr. Dean was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She graduated from Clemson University with a bachelors degree in Animal Veterinary Science in 2003 and then finished her veterinary degree with Mississippi State University in 2009.
Along with seeing small animal patients, Dr. Dean also has a special interest in surgery and exotics. She has a French bulldog, boxer, and Labrador retriever that allow her to live in the house with them. In her free time, she loves traveling, Clemson football, front porch sitting, and spending time with her family.
Stephen M Miller, D.V.M.,M.S., is currently a small animal veterinarian at Conway Animal Hospital. He practices companion animal medicine and surgery. His interests are dentistry and exotic animals.
He enjoys spending time with family, cooking, playing guitar, fishing and most outdoor activities. Dr. Miller was a Clinical Veterinarian-Toxicologist and dedicated 100% percent of his time to veterinary services and animal welfare at Battelle Biomedical Research Center. Dr Miller joined the BBRC in October 2008 after14 years in zoological medicine, academics, and research. After joining Battelle, he worked on multiple projects as Study Veterinarian and provided primary clinical veterinary support to the facility. As veterinarian in charge. Previously Dr Miller was the Senior Veterinarian for the Audubon Institute Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans, LA. His focus was primarily Aquatic Animal Medicine, although he has experience with a wide range of exotic and laboratory animal species. Dr Miller provided veterinary support with a team of four other veterinarians to the Audubon Center for Research with Endangered Species and
Species Survival Center in New Orleans. The team collaborated with more than 60 other scientists and focused on developing assisted reproductive techniques for endangered animals. Dr Miller also served as the Director of the Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Rescue Program for the State of Louisiana and has led multiple conservation and research efforts in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, Louisiana State University, U.S., Wildlife and Fisheries, Mote Marine Laboratory and Florida Fish and Wildlife Service. Dr Miller has held Adjunct Assistant Professor Positions at both Louisiana State University and North Carolina State University Schools of Veterinary Medicine. In 2006 he moved to Asheboro, NC after hurricane Katrina and became the Zoo General Curator for the North Carolina Zoological Park. Dr. Miller holds degrees in Veterinary Medicine, Respiratory Therapy Technology, Marine Biology, Toxicology and Underwater Technology. He has completed additional clinical training in zoo, wildlife, laboratory, aquatic animal medicine and forensic toxicology.
Dr. Alison Carroll Gorcesky grew up in Richardson, Texas, near Dallas. She received her DVM from Texas A&M University in 2005. She moved to the Myrtle Beach area right after graduation and practiced in Little River until 2023. Dr. G’s goal is to treat all of her patients like her own pets and to the best of her abilities. She loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, but especially enjoys internal medicine. In her spare time, Dr. G. enjoys different kinds of crafts, reading, and spending time with her family. She is married to a local elementary school teacher, Bo Gorcesky. Together they have three children and two dogs.
Darcel grew up in New York and Vermont and moved to Conway, SC in 2015. She graduated with an associate degree in veterinary technology in 1990. She has worked as a licensed technician, practice manager and veterinary sales representative for over 30 years. She has 2 human children, 2 cats, and 7 German Shepherds. She raises and trains German Shepherds and proudly donates puppies to veterans for service dogs.
